Sarah Wheeler, a photography expert at the Bloomsbury auction house, which is hosting the photo, said: 'This is a photo of the era, it once brought great interest. for people in the 1960s and 70s. The picture was taken from a weather forecast satellite launched into orbit with the aim of transmitting images from the universe to the earth for the weather forecasters'.

This historic picture was taken by a NASA cloud imaging camera on November 5, 1967 from the US geostationary satellite called ATS-III. This photo was then transmitted to Earth via radio waves with a total of 2,400 separate transmissions that could be combined into a color photo like this. The photo was created in a complete manner on November 18, 1967.
