The first turtle to go down in history with a shell was created from a 3D printer
Freddy is a name given to a turtle caught in a forest fire in Brazil, although saved, its ability to continue to live is very low. But thanks to the volunteer animal support group "The Animal Avengers", Freddy not only lived healthy, but also honored to become the first turtle in the world to own tomorrow made up of 3D printing technology.
"Freddy is the first turtle in the world to receive an artificial shell with 3D technology and is also the first creature that our new animal rescue team helped , " designer Cicero Moraes, an employee of the Sao Paulo-based volunteer group said.
Freddy's turtle with apricot is printed in 3D.
He designed Freddy's tomorrow by using a computer to create 3D images based on photographs of a poor turtle.
Then he sent them to Dr. Paulo Miamoto, a dental surgeon, who turned Moraes's design into a real shell with a 3D printer.
As a result, as you can see, the turtle seems to be very pleased with his new "high-tech" shell. The Animal Avengers team did very well, Tony Stark will definitely feel proud.
Freddy's turtle was lucky to survive the wildfire.
But its tomorrow was badly damaged, a group of volunteers created a new shell for it with a 3D printer.
The new apricot fits snugly with Freddy, but it looks a bit boring.
So the group decided to paint it to look as natural as possible.
Freddy finally had a nice apricot.
The Animal Avengers is a "team" consisting of four veterinarians, a dental surgeon and a 3D designer.
