The first wine was born where?
Dr Patrick McGovern (University of Pennsylvania, USA) said experiments on ceramic jars from Jiahu Village, Henan Province (China) found traces of fermented drinks made from rice and honey. and grapes or hawthorn.
According to him, perhaps the wine first started in the north of the most populous country in the world at least 7000 BC, which is earlier than the prediction of many former scientists. in Hajji Firuz Tepe (Iran) from 5400 BC.
Dr. McGovern studied the excavation area at Jia Hu, in the Yellow River basin. Among the things discovered were old houses, brick kilns, copper pots, blue jade carvings, stone tools and flutes made from bone.
To draw the above conclusion, he analyzed an ancient wine in a copper vase taken from the tombs of the Shang Dynasty, in the Yellow River basin ( photo ). It is colorless, giving off a faint scent similar to acetone or varnish.
