The home produces twice as much energy as the consumer needs

At the opening ceremony of the European Solar Decathlon competition in the city of Madrid (Spain), design teams from Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary) presented a sample. Prefabricators make full use of solar energy, especially able to produce twice as much electricity as they consume.

The view of the house 'Odooproject' during the day

The 'Odooproject' project is an open space house, with a covered roof in the middle, connecting the living room, bedroom and living room area with the kitchen area. This design allows owners to enjoy the atmosphere and natural light almost all day. Surrounding the house are dark walls, forming a closed block and helping the house suitable for all climatic conditions (hot or cold).

During the summer months, photovoltaic panels installed on the roof and side walls are determined to be the most exposed to the sun, taking advantage of the sun's heat to store electricity.'The energy source that the house can meet can meet the needs of two homes, or provide power for a tram that can travel about 70km / day,' the team confirmed. Meanwhile, the water-cooled system installed under the ceiling will ensure that the temperature inside the house is always cool during summer days. The design team hopes 'Odooproject' will be an advanced and usable prefabricated model that could be commercialized soon.
