The humor needed for the office

Games at work may not be acceptable in many places. But a new study that finds light humor is a good thing. The researchers analyzed hypotheses about humor, emotions and moods from various studies in the fields of psychology, society, filtering, philosophy and communication.

"We rely on Ernest Hemingway's statement to get the title of the study - I always feel that in people who are joking around in life, seeds are better covered and have better protein quality. " Researcher Chris Robert at the University of Missouri, Columbia, said. "The implication here is that the joke has its positive meaning."

Humor has a positive meaning for workplace engagement and increasing the quality of communication between colleagues", Robert said. "The ability to perceive humor, the ability to laugh and make others laugh will affect the body, making people more connected."

Many other studies also find humor - especially around work-related things - that actually has a positive impact on the workplace. Funny sayings help increase creativity, cohesion and improve overall work efficiency.

However, Robert also pointed out that humor varies from culture to culture. In culturally diverse environments, it is difficult to know what is amusing and when to be funny."But it doesn't eliminate humor completely , " Robert said.

In order to make jokes between different cultures, Robert advised that a common platform should be found."The most amusing thing is the absurdity. You point out two issues and connect them together in the most surprising way, that will immediately make people laugh."

However, sexual comedy stories, like stories about blondes, will cause discrimination between men and women, creating a sense of disdain for women, and causing bad effects on the working environment.
