The ideal smart home lock concept students have to stay at the inn
If Igloohome locks are integrated into student accommodation, I think that the hostel will attract visitors because of this convenience.
This is my confession: in my student days, when I was in the inn, once I forgot the heaven and earth, I lost the key to the room. So I had to ask my landlord to open the house, but unfortunately my room had only one key left, and I lost it. I had to sleep in the hallway the next morning so the locksmith could come to open it.
It is very unpleasant to think of keeping the keys in the rooms (or keeping the house keys in general), where students are coming tomorrow to find other accommodation. I think why the rooms do not integrate locks like hotels, no need to use keys to open. Although it is expensive at first, it will not be expensive when each key is lost and the locksmith is called above.
Igloohome smart locks.
Fortunately, a start-up company in Singapore made the same idea, they developed a smart door lock that could meet everyone's needs. This smart lock is simply designed with an integrated numeric keypad, to open the door, users only need to enter the pin that was created by the system before.
At first, it will be integrated with short-term tenancy services such as AirBnb , when the owner and the tenant have completed the booking agreement, the system will automatically generate the lock code and transfer it to the tenant. From there they can enter the room without having to get the key from the landlord as before.
"This will make the delivery of door keys completely change , " said Annthony Chow, Igloohome CEO and co-founder. Of course, the tenants will not be able to use that key forever, it will be disabled when the guest ends the room.
This lock system can operate without wifi, in addition, the key generation system will use 2-layer security, similar to banking systems, to increase the reliability to the maximum. It has been available in Singapore, Thailand and Australia.Igloohome is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity and backup physical key. Currently the product price is about 290 USD, if there is AirBnb integration, the owner must pay an additional 7 USD a month.

Athony said the lock is designed for the Asian market , where there are many different types of door locks and this Igloohome product can be integrated into many types of locks. Moreover, the operation without wifi is also a plus for the less powerful area of wireless connections like Asia.
Igloohome said it is not only suitable for AirBnb service, but other types of tenants, such as motels, guest houses, hotels can also use this product. In addition, they are experimenting with nursing homes.
If Igloohome locks are integrated into student accommodation, I think that the hostel will attract visitors because of this convenience. Our students will no longer have worries like forgetting the keys in the room or dropping the keys. In addition, the landlord does not have to make multiple backup keys for many rooms, bringing benefits to both sides.
