The map shows that Earth is continuously attacked by meteors

NASA's latest image data shows us: in the last 20 years, the Earth has faced hundreds of 'visits' of small meteorites coming from space.

Recently, NASA's NEO (Near Earth Objet) has published a map that records the number of small meteorites that "attacked" the Earth in the period from 1994 to 2013. The results made many people startled. , because we all assume that the Earth is very safe, never being disturbed by elements coming from outside the universe.

Few doubts, Earth is always under attack by small meteorites coming from outer space

In fact, there have been 556 different fireballs flying into Earth's atmosphere and widely distributed around the globe within 20 years. This data is recorded and recorded by NASA sensors located in many different areas.

According to this map, small meteorites that fly into the Earth are very diverse in collision time, level and destructive power. The color of the small dots indicates the time the meteorites "visit" the green planet. The large, small dots of the round dots are recorded based on the energy they release when arriving at our planet. To calculate this data, NASA experts base on the meteorological radiation of meteorites that the sensors receive.

Specifically, the smallest dots on the map symbolize meteorites with an energy level of about 1 GJ (GJ is Giga Joules, equivalent to 1 billion Joules). The largest round of dots ever recorded has energy of more than 1 million GJ, with the power of 1 million tons of TNT.

The energy that these meteorites carry is enormous!

However, it is fortunate that the Earth is protected by the atmosphere. Therefore, most of the small meteorites caught fire and disappeared without even reaching the ground.

The only exception is the famous collision of the 2013 Chelyabinsk meteorite. This meteorite broke the glass doors of about 7,200 buildings in six Russian cities and injured 1,500 people.

NASA experts say, with this map, they can calculate and predict the collisions with small meteorites in the future. Since then, NASA will have more plans to cooperate with other countries in protecting the safety of the Earth.

At the same time, the analysis of past events can enable them to find new characteristics and rules of the universal movement.
