The more stressful, the more the body smells 'bad' - what mechanism is that weird?

The same is sweat but it is clear that when exercising, the body odor does not get as strong as when it is just a little stressful. Why is that?

Many people wonder that one thing, why practice for hours in the gym, sweat is drenched but doesn't seem to smell.

However, just standing in front of a presentation in front of the crowd, or anxiously preparing an exam . the sweat suddenly broke out like a bath. Not only that, but the bad thing is that you find your body seems to smell a lot more.

Is that so? The same is sweat, but why does it smell like, does it seem like there's no smell?

Dr. George Preti - an organic chemist who studies the smell of humans at Monell Chemistry Center, Philadelphia (USA), will give you this answer.

According to him, our bodies have 2 different sweat glands .

The eccrine gland produces a layer of sweat that covers the body when you are active at high intensity .

The apocrine gland - usually occurs in the lower arm area.

Eccrine is distributed throughout the skin, helping to cool the body when it is heated up after physical activity or in hot weather.

Besides the eccrine gland, there is an apocrine gland - usually in the lower arm area. They are strongly activated when you have psychological stress .

This sweat gland will create a strong odor, sometimes even the smell of sulfur when you feel anxious or scared.

Ramsey Markus, associate professor of dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine, said: "When you are stressed, you will activate the sympathetic nervous system in your body. Your heart will also beat harder, faster, and more. sweaty hands, dry mouth ".

Ramsey Markus also added that the sweat glands secreted during exercise are mainly water and sweat during stress (emanating from apocrine glands) also includes fats, lipids, and proteins.

Taking advantage of these ingredients, the bacteria will easily invade - and that is the root of the body's smell.

So is there a deeper cause of this "smell" ?

According to experts, this may have originated deeply from our ancestors in ancient times. Human ancestors also formed a similar psychological stress response when attacked by animals.

They speculate that we may have developed a process of producing body odor when stressed as a way to stay away from predators.

The solution that experts use to minimize bacteria on the body is to wash regularly and wear clean clothes.

You can use an extra deodorant to help cover some of the odor but also make the skin more acidic and make it more difficult for bacteria to live. However, and to prevent your body from sweating, don't let yourself be stressed.
