The more you know, the easier it is to learn
We learn better when new knowledge matches old knowledge. Researchers claim that finding in this mouse can explain the learning process of people.
Scientists have trained mice to know 6 places with 6 different flavors of food. After 6 weeks, remember the constant pairs of places - the rats, learning the new pair of smells - places in a single experiment - with very short time periods.
"It's literally like when you remember where an Indian restaurant is, what a Thai restaurant is, and where a curry is," said Richard Morris, a member of the research team at Edinburgh University, Scotland. "So when a new restaurant opens, it's easy to put it on your list."
Mice can memorize new links for at least 2 weeks.
