ALMA Observatory is the most ambitious radio observatory on Earth. Unlike optical telescopes, radio telescopes at ALMA are designed to capture radio waves emitted by sources in space. ALMA has 66 antennas, of which 50 are 12 meters in diameter and 12 are 7 meters in diameter.
