The mysterious eye eyeball origin has been identified

Researchers have identified the source of the giant blue eyeballs that drifted to the Florida coast to sparkle last week from a swordfish thrown into the sea.

This conclusion is drawn when experts analyze the size, color and structure as well as bone around the eyes. Based on straight-line cuts, the eye is believed to be removed by fishermen, said Joan Herreram, an official with the Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation.

In the Atlantic Ocean, such a large eye can be made of swordfish. Because this species can weigh up to 500 kg and especially at this time, it is heavily caught by fishermen on the southern coast of Florida.

To reinforce verification, the Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation will continue to conduct DNA testing.
