The new Ebola outbreak in Congo erupts from a corpse

The World Health Organization (WHO) said only a brief notice, 300,000 new Ebola vaccines would be ready to travel to the epidemic.

The latest outbreak has been identified in the village of Mangina in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a village near the northeastern border of Uganda, from a 65-year-old woman suspected of dying for Ebola . Her burial was not carried out in accordance with safety standards and the people who served the burial service were infected.

Until August 3, there were 4 cases identified as Ebola in the area inside and outside this village. Authorities are determining whether anyone is infected again? Meanwhile, WHO urgently conducted tests to see if the Ebola strain in this outbreak is suitable for the vaccine? No later than the next Tuesday will result and extensive vaccination for these villagers will be conducted if the vaccine is appropriate.

Mangina village has been included in the "internal and external realization " situation to avoid having people exposed but have not shown symptoms of carrying the disease elsewhere.

The outbreak belongs to the 10th Ebola outbreak in the Congo, which has been released since May. This is Congo's 9th locality attacked by this terrifying pathogen.

Dr. Peter Salama, WHO emergency program director, said there are still 3,000 doses of unused vaccines being stored in the Congo capital. Just a brief announcement, another 300,000 doses of vaccine can be provided immediately to Congo as well as other countries if an outbreak occurs. Thanks to this vaccine, in this 10th outbreak, the number of dead people stopped at 33.

Speaking more about the source of infection for Mangina village, Dr. Salama said the woman suspected of having Ebola died on July 25, buried without the standard of burying patients. She has 7 family members who have died of Ebola in other outbreaks.

Ebola is one of the diseases with the highest mortality rate and the ability to spread very horribly when WHO's experimental vaccine is not yet available and applied. During the 2014-2016 campaign in three other African countries, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia, Ebola infected 29,000 people and 11,300 of them died.
