The only bat that hibernates under the snow
Ussuri tube bats reduce body temperature and heart rate very low and sleep in the snow hole to overcome the harsh winter.
They hibernate in cylindrical holes or cones under thick snow.
This is Ussuri tube nose bat with the shape of a small fur ball. Scientists determine they hibernate in snow caves, the only mammals apart from this polar bear. However, unlike bears, this bat does not have a layer of fat and a thick coat to retain heat.
To survive in the winter, they lowered their body temperature and heart rate to very low levels to consume the least energy.
Previously, how Ussuri, unknown batman scientists passed the cold winter. After years of observation, they assumed that they hibernated in cylindrical holes or cones under thick snow.
They take off as soon as the snow starts to melt and the hole is exposed.
It is possible to hibernate bats in the snow because it helps protect them from predators, easy access to water and helps keep heat.
