An African gray parrot trained by the owner how to sing the tune of the famous football song, to cheer the England team at the 2014 World Cup.

The gray parrot named Slipmat , 9 years old, is a pet of Fran Sheridan, a football fan, England supporter.

Before the 2014 World Cup, Fran decided to teach Slipmat how to sing songs, after his son suggested teaching the parrot a football song, to sing as they watched the matches.

Telegraph said, after many months of training, the parrot can sing along to many songs and sing the best song "Great Escape". Slipmat also constantly mentioned the England team name and Rooney player when watching football through television with the owner.

African gray parrots are a species of parrot belonging to the family Psittacidae. They often live in captivity and are pets of many families. Researchers appreciate this parrot's ability to imitate the human voice.
