This device called "Pink Light" is mainly for pregnant women.

The device, called "Pink Light, " is primarily intended for pregnant women, and is operated jointly by the government of Busan City and Daehong. The Pink Light consists of two parts: a small sign (like a badge), a ladies can attach a side, and a larger light, mounted on a subway or bus. Women can get these beacons in certain locations in the city. Pink Light's battery can last up to 6 months in a row.

Pregnant women only need to wear a small sign and the technology will take care of the rest, helping them to get chairs on the train. When the user is near a seat with a Pink Light, the device will ring and flash, telling the person sitting there that a pregnant woman is in need of a seat. Once the system recognizes the woman is in the seat, the beacon and the sound will automatically turn off. This system is also particularly useful for peak times as crowded crowds in the train make it difficult for people to see who is pregnant and who needs help.

See how Pink Light works in the video below:

Although the system is only being tested on a subway line, Busan wants to cover Pink Light to all tram and bus systems in the city in the future and not just to pregnant women. but also groups such as the elderly, the disabled.
