The reason people drink so much alcohol

The size of the glass, the color of the wine and how to pour the wine may be related to the amount of drinking more or less.

>>>Wine reduces the risk of depression

In a recent study, scientists asked participants to pour wine into a normal glass under different conditions. The results show that the alcohol content of participants is different depending on many factors.

When participants were given a large glass, they poured more than 12% more alcohol than when using a regular glass. Participants pouring 9% more white wine than pouring red wine, proving that the contrast between alcohol color and drinking cup also plays a role in deciding the dose to drink.

"The reason is that people tend to focus more vertically on alcohol than horizontal . So people often drink less when using narrow glasses," Livescience quoted researcher Laura Smarandescu, assistant. Professor at the University of Iowa, USA said.

In addition, according to research, placing glasses on tables to pour wine instead of using handles will reduce a person's dosage.

"If you want to pour and drink a little wine, use a narrow antique glass and only pour it when the glass is placed on the table instead of holding it in your hand, so you will pour less alcohol for about 9 to 12%," researcher Brian Wansink at Cornell University said.

The difference in alcohol estimation can make people drink more than they think, which can cause bad effects. Alcohol contributes to daily calories, so drinking too much will cause weight problems as well as health.

Previous studies have also found that the shape of a glass affects the rate of alcohol consumption, or the size of a plate and bowl, determines how much people eat.
