The safest place on earth to avoid nuclear disaster
Nuclear war is always the worst scenario that can happen on Earth and if so, where is the safest rated for shelter?
Dr. Becky Alexis-Martin from Southampton University and Dr. Thom Daies of Warwick University have recently made a judgment on this issue in the Guardian.
A nuclear explosion.
It can be said that humanity is in the safest phase compared to the past. Recent UN research shows that the proportion of murder-related crimes has dropped significantly in Asia, Europe and North America over the past 15 years. Conflicts in the world have also occurred less since 1992.
Nuclear threats also diminish. Many shelter shelters were renovated into nightclubs, sightseeing areas. Five countries possessing nuclear weapons have reached an agreement to ban dissemination and nuclear testing over the past two decades.
Nuclear threats increase
However, this safety is tending to change. North Korea has many nuclear tests. In September 2016, Binh Nhuong tested the nuclear for the 5th time and this time it also detonated the most powerful destructive weapon ever.
Although most UN member states support the proposal to ban nuclear weapons, Russia-NATO, India-Pakistan tensions or complex geopolitical scenarios are on the rise.
Antarctica is the safest haven, according to experts.
Former US Undersecretary William Perry once said this year that the danger of nuclear weapons destruction was greater than in the 1970s and 1980s.
What is the safest place on Earth?
Dr. Becky Alexis-Martin and Dr. Thom Daies say, if the nuclear disaster breaks out, the safest place on Earth is Antarctica .
Not only is this continent always having cold temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius, Antarctica is also the first place where countries reach an agreement on nuclear.
The 1959 Antarctic Treaty banned the detonation of all nuclear weapons and turned the cold region into a place of peace research.
Easter Island may be the place where survivors see the world "facing a nuclear disaster".
In fact, the cold area on Earth used to be a shelter, avoiding nuclear disaster. The American " Iceworm Project" has created a secret base hidden deep within the Arctic Circle. Known as the "ice city" , this cellar is now abandoned.
Another option could be Easter Island in the southern Pacific Ocean, 3,200km from South America. Present here witnessing the " rest of the world sinking in a nuclear disaster" , survivors can visit giant mysterious statues.
These are great works created by ancient Polynesians. They had to cut trees on the island to pull the giant statues to move. This inadvertently turned the isolated island into a "wild ecosystem".
