Eran Katz is the one who holds the Guinness record of the ability to remember and read the 500-digit sequence only after listening once. His two books - "The secret of a supernatural memory" and "Jewish wisdom" - are among the best-selling books in the world. These publications have been translated into 10 languages and sold about 300,000 copies.

Katz came to Vietnam on the occasion of the Vietnamese translation of these two books.

To the admiration of the witnesses, Katz remembered a long line of numbers. He asked the audience to write a number of more than 30 digits on the board. The host re-read each number in the sequence for Katz to remember. Then he reread each number in the sequence from left to right and in the opposite direction without any errors or omissions.

Katz thinks he has no special aptitude for being born. Katz even admitted that he was a lazy student while still in school. So he was always looking for ways to just spend the minimum time for studying and still achieve the desired results. Katz's superhuman memory ability is due to training since childhood.

"Your memory is not bad at all, but we often don't believe in our ability to remember , " he said.

According to Katz, many people believe that they have imperfect memory and accept to live with it throughout their lives. The first thing everyone needs to do is change that wrong mindset. Most people use only 10% of their ability to remember in life. He asserts there is no limit to the human ability to remember. Katz thinks it is important to remember that it is easy to be interested in things, to make connections between them and to let imagination fly.

To train memory skills, Katz first suggested that people remember some things like fish, beds, carpets, dogs, cars, skirts. He also confirmed that most of us cannot remember if the number of objects is too large. Katz then instructed to apply the association to create the connection between objects with unusual images - like sleeping fish in the bed, television moving and stabbing, dogs wearing skirts. Thus, when recounting the first thing, we will easily remember the next thing by visual connection.

If people are always trying to make connections between things in our daily lives, our imagination and creativity will grow constantly, he said.

In terms of learning a foreign language, Katz advises people to try to turn learning into fun and interesting games. Learners should create an association between vocabulary with unique or unusual images. For example, when learning the word "green" - meaning "green" in English - we should imagine a lawn mower moving on the green lawn and making "green" sounds. Thus, the word will attach to the sound of the lawn mower and the color of the lawn. With complex and unimaginable words, the best way is to try to divide them into words that are easier to remember.

The way to memorize Katz's mathematical, physical, chemical or biological formulas is like memorizing words, which means having to make a connection between any two things by conjugation. For example, the formula for calculating the circumference of a circle is P = 2.π.r. The two words π.r read "pi a" in English. Public relations is abbreviated PR in English and also read "pi a". Thus, if you create an association between the circle and the public relations profession, you will remember the formula as follows: "The circumference of the circle is equal to two times of public relations profession". This sentence may seem awkward, but because of that, it becomes easy to remember.

According to Erankatz.com, Katz has passed experience at over 1,700 presentations and seminars to more than 400,000 people from hundreds of companies and organizations. Among the companies and organizations that invited him to speak were the Ministry of Defense Singapore, Motorola, HP, IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, General Electric, Coca-Cola, AT&T, Thai Chamber of Commerce, eBay. He currently lives in Jerusalem with his wife and has two daughters.
