This third European automatic transport ship (ATV-3) is named after the 20th-century Italian physicist Edoardo Amaldi, who will leave the launch pad at 4:30 pm on March 23 (GMT, ie 11 hours 31 minutes on the same day as Vietnam time.
The ship Edoardo Amaldi has now been placed on Ariane 5 rocket and will carry 6 tons of cargo including fuel, drinking water, oxygen, food . to supply to ISS.
It will be on the station for 6 months and after that, the train leaves and carries the waste of the station. Most of the Edoardo Amaldi vessels will be burnt along with garbage when entering the earth's atmosphere.
Reportedly, before the ship Edoardo Amaldi, two other transport ships were also launched by ISA, the ATV-1, Jules Verne, launched on March 9, 2008 and the ATV-2 named Johannes Kepler, launched on February 16, 2011.
