The tribe still lives as primitive in Nepal

Photographer Andrew records the life of the Raute in Surkhet, eastern Nepal. This tribe sleeps in cloth tents, lived by hunting and gathering like ten thousand years ago.

The Raute people live like the original hunting and gathering method.They are very good at trap monkeys for food.In the photo, an old man is returning home after a successful hunting trip.

They depend on their surroundings due to not cultivating.

Women wear bright, bright colors.

The Raute people are nomadic, often traveling.No one in the tribe has a hired job or school.

The Raute are very good at making wooden items.They use them in exchange for clothes and supplies when needed.

There is very little information about this tribe, because they live separately and rarely interact with local people.

The difficult life of the Raute people became more and more difficult due to the changing environment.That means they have to move more often.

In recent years, when forests have been narrowed, they have been forced to interact with local people more.

Traditionally, the Raute people in tents were built from leaves and twigs, covered with colorful cloths to cope with the weather.
