This is not including every night the lake always glows bright pink, is affirmed as the cinnamon ghost spirit of the drowned to claim unfairly.

Since the Middle Ages, Sobolkho has been famous as a greedy hole devouring people. According to statistics in the past 10 years, about 300 horses and 500 cows have 'crawled' into the lake. Particularly in the flood season in 1999-2000, there were 25 people lost their lives. In the past few years, the number of people drowning in this water area has decreased significantly, mostly because people always stay away from it like a plague, and children are absolutely forbidden to get close to them.

However, the mysterious mystery of Sobolkho's life is not enough to discourage the scientific world. According to researchers from the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), it is very likely that Sobolkho is an example of a natural open geography phenomenon, linked to the special structure of the Earth's crust. on this area.

The mystery of 'Lakeless bottom ' is more and more attracted to the curiosity of RAS scientists. So at the end of October 2006, they decided to organize an expedition to Sobolkho to find the depth of the lake.

At first glance, it is possible to estimate that the lake has a radius of about 30 meters. The water was dark, cold, and there was almost no life in the trees around. RAS began conducting exploration a few points near the edge of the lake. The result for the largest depth is 13 meters - an impressive figure compared to a modest water surface like this. However, in some farther places, the measuring device does not touch the bottom. This is also why researchers cannot explain why.

RAS is not the first to demand a test of the lake. In 1995, there was also a group of amateur divers here hoping to lift the veil of secret. Not counting all the numbers of the measurements, but in the end, all efforts went into vain.

Even many skilled divers on that day left their lives in vain. Strangely, the death of a brave diver in the group, he dived too deep and stuck in the whirlpool. Friends found every way but could not salvage the body, and suddenly found it drifting near the bank of Vitim river a few hundred meters away from Lake Sobolkho a few days later.

But it was from here that people began to imagine the truth about Sobolkho: there is definitely a hidden road under the water that connects the lake to the Vitim river.

Someone estimated that the depth of the lake was about 250 meters, or more. But the people of Buryatia always have an eternal belief: Lake Sobolkho has no bottom .
