The world's largest propeller engine aircraft landed on England
The Antonov AN-22 is the world's largest propeller engine aircraft with a 64-meter wingspan.
Antonov AN-22 plane landed at Manchester airport yesterday afternoon, according to Mirror. Since it was rarely seen, the plane attracted crowds of people interested in the airport to monitor the landing.
Taking off from Helsinki, Finland, Antonov AN-22 was originally scheduled to land on the afternoon of November 30. This is a heavy military mechanical transport designed by Antonov Design Bureau, an aerospace company in Kiev, Ukraine, using four turboprop turbines with opposite wings.
Antonov AN-22 first appeared publicly outside the Soviet Union at the Paris Air Show in 1965. Since then, the aircraft has been used in many transport missions in Russia.
With a 64-meter wingspan, the aircraft can reach speeds of 740 km / h. Antonov AN-22 can carry 80,000 kg of cargo, including large vehicles such as battle tanks.
