Boeing, SpaceX and Sierra Nevada are three corporations that NASA chooses. NASA officials are about to give more than $ 1.1 billion to these three corporations, the AP reported.
Selecting the manufacturer of spacecraft and boosters is the third phase in the plan to transfer the operation to the International Space Station (ISS) for NASA's private businesses. Initially NASA intended to hire 7 businesses to bring people to space, but then they eliminated 4 businesses.

Soon after the private spacecraft was born, NASA will hire companies to take astronauts to ISS within 5 years. During that time, the US will continue to hire Russia to send people to ISS. Because private vessels are designed to serve astronauts on space, the American media call them "cosmic taxis".
SpaceX's Dragon Airship flew into orbit and connected with ISS in May. Dragon's flight was extremely special, because it was the first time a private company had brought cargo to the station. SpaceX will contract with NASA to perform at least 12 cargo flights to ISS. Contract value is up to 1.6 billion USD.
