Unbelievable effect of the super killer snake venom

The venom of the blue coral snake lasts a quarter of its length and can be used as a pain reliever for humans.

A research team concluded that the venom of the blue coral snake (scientific name: Calliophis bivirgata ) can be used as a new analgesic in the study published in Toxin magazine on October 18, according to BBC.

Green coral snakes are native to Southeast Asia and are dangerous predators such as king cobra. It is about 2 meters long with the venom gland lasting a quarter of its length . This snake possesses one of the most powerful venom in the world, which can cause prey paralysis immediately.

"Most venomous snakes work slowly, acting as a strong pain reliever that makes you feel sleepy and die slowly. However, the blue coral snake's venom works almost immediately because of it. often hunt for dangerous prey, must kill quickly before they attack again, so it is called assassin assassin, "said Dr. Bryan Fry, of the University of Queensland.

The strong effect of green coral snake venom can be applied to human painkillers. Snakes are vertebrates that evolve closer to humans, so the drug grows from its venom to be more efficient.

"The venom affects sodium channels , the center conveys the pain of the body. We can turn this ability into a painkiller that works better with humans , " Dr. Fry explained.

The blue coral snake is the first vertebrate in the world to have venom in this way . However, this is a rare snake because more than 80% of its habitat has been destroyed.

"I just saw two green coral snakes in the wild," said Dr. Fry.

He and his colleagues plan to study relatives of this snake in Singapore.

"We are trying to find other properties in the blue coral snake relatives. Some people say the snake is only good when it dies but we want to prove the opposite , " Dr. Fry said.
