Need to be very careful with the demon face, because its venom is no less venomous - President of Vietnam Beekeepers Association warns after a 6-year-old student in Lao Cai was stung by a bee.
Mr. Dinh Quyet Tam, Chairman of Vietnam Beekeepers Association warned that after the demon face attack on schools in Tong Sanh village (Bat Xat, Lao Cai), 1 student died.
On the morning of August 27, two teachers, two parents and 15 students in Ta Tong Sanh village were suddenly attacked by the demon bees. Of these 19 people, 6 were taken to the ambulance on the morning of August 27. Particularly I pan La Lu, 6 years old, Dao people, because of being burnt by a bee so badly, died in the afternoon of the same day.
Tam said, unlike honey bees, demon bees can nest both on the ground and on trees. In particular, this is an insect with strong venom, can reproduce venom many times. Unlike honey bees, after burning all the venom, they will die, and the demon face bee will not only burn once, but many times. The venom of this bee is poisonous like snake venom, so if it is accidentally attacked, it must be rushed to the nearest medical facility to detoxify.
'Demon-faced bees are fierce, when attacking often pull the whole pack and chase to the end. So if this honeycomb is found near residential areas, people need to burn the nest right away , 'Mr. Tam said.
In the case of an unfortunate attack, it is necessary to quickly hide, to avoid many animals burning at the same time because then the venom will be multiplied, causing anaphylaxis. Cases of many demon bees burning at the same time, if there is timely detoxification is also likely to cause heart failure, kidney. Because this venom penetrates very quickly into the body.
According to Mr. Tam, when being attacked by a demon face, the victim should quickly enter the house and close the door, go into the curtain, or jump into a pond with water to avoid. When the object is not accessible, the bee will leave.
Dr. Truong Xuan Lam, Head of the Department of Entomology of the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources, said: demon-faced bees of the Vespidae family, with the same family as earth bees, are big bees, eat meat. This species usually lives in mountainous, natural or near-natural areas, rarely in plain areas. Demon face bees only attack people and animals when they are touched. Like many other bees, when burned, the demon face leaves the proboscis part of the body burned, causing swelling, fever. If the child is small, only 3-5 face bees demon burn can be fatal; For adults, about 20 burns can cause fever, leading to death.
