UNICEF: HIV / AIDS affects 10 million children in South Asia
According to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), more than 10 million children in South Asia are currently affected by the ' pandemic ' of HIV / AIDS.
Mohammad Naseer, director of social affairs for the South Asia Regional Cooperation Association (SAARC), said HIV / AIDS is having serious consequences with an increasing number of orphans. It is more worrisome that this is a vulnerable group as well as vulnerable to the death of family members living with HIV / AIDS.
At the meeting of representatives of SAARC countries taking place in Kathmandu on August 7, 8, the delegates reviewed the situation of children affected by HIV / AIDS in the region. They also discussed to formulate policies and measures to protect this group.
