Unique 'bridge' built from ant body

When the "march" line is interrupted, instead of turning the ants, it will use its own body to create a bridge to cross the gap.

Images of unique 'bridges' have been captured by Adhi Prayoga (42) when he spotted a worker ant nesting on small trees in a friend's garden in Mataram, Indonesia.

When an ant army was stuck on a branch, instead of giving up and crawling back, this little insect quickly devised a 'bridge building' strategy to go to another branch. The ants close together, the other clings to the other one, so on until another tree branch is reached.

Prayoga photographer said: 'The ants build bridges to go to higher branches, they have worked together very professionally to ensure safety. Each of them, each one clung together to create a bridge '.

Prayoga also added: 'Sometimes they make some mistakes and failures, but they continue to do it over and over and eventually succeed. The bridge is completed quickly after only a few seconds'.

Although the body length is less than 2mm, the ant colonies have created bridges up to 10cm long.

These impressive images showed the strength of solidarity as well as the ability of the ants to work hard. They always know how to find their way to their destination no matter how difficult.
