The new material "TOFEKS" is intended for eye surgery, and it is versatile, unlike previous materials. "TOFEKS" reminiscent of special membrane, in which drug. Materials that can heal wounds, strengthen the retina, heal damage, orthotics. And best of all, the feature does not cause any discomfort to the sensitive tissues of the eye. The eye clinic receives this miraculous light so easily that the patient immediately after the caesarean section almost no sense in his eyes have new material.

With the help of the new material, it can eliminate the most serious violations of vision as well as minor disabilities. Depending on the type of drugs attached, the delicate membrane is used to treat retinal detachment, nearsightedness or farsightedness, glaucoma or mechanical injuries. "Our invention allows for the effective prevention of visual impairment and the reduction of defect rates in the most common ophthalmologic diseases , " said Kirill Shubsky, a representative of the team. His background is in the production of innovative materials for various purposes.

Two other foundations of the invention are the Moscow Eye Research Institute, Gelmholtz and the National Academy of Medicine in the central Russian city of Tver. "TOFEKS" was piloted at the synthetic fiber factory.

New materials have been commercially available for use in a number of ophthalmic clinics throughout Russia.
