US Army develops self-destructible ammunition for safety

New ammunition technology will help reduce civilian casualties in combat zones.

According to RT, the US military has recently applied for a patent for a new type of ammunition to reduce casualties among civilians in the war zone.

The self-destruct idea is intended for use with .50 cal., But theoretically it can be used on a variety of guns of various sizes, including small arms. Inventors claim that the maximum travel distance of a bullet can be altered based on the fuel's choice of shotgun. At present, the project has been suspended research capital, but the authors also expressed hope that new bullet technology will soon reappear.
