Vaccination against influenza H7N9 initially tested successfully
In the context of complicated H7N9 outbreaks, China has announced initial success in developing this vaccine against the dangerous flu strain.
The vaccine was created by Shanghai scientists using genetic technology that passed the initial test on mice. All 30 mice survived and gave negative results to H7N9 virus after one month of vaccination. Scientists are preparing for clinical trials of the vaccine and finding an antibody against the H7N9 virus to treat infected patients.

The announcement comes as the H7N9 flu is spreading rapidly in China with an increasing number of cases every day.
On February 9, China recorded 8 new infections in Zhejiang, Hunan, Jiangsu, Guangdong and Anhui provinces and a death case in Guangdong. Patients of all ages and most have direct contact with live poultry before flu symptoms appear.
Thus, in this year alone, mainland China published more than 120 cases of H7N9 with 26 deaths. Zhejiang and Guangdong are the two provinces with the highest number of cases.
Faced with this situation, the National Committee for Health and Family Planning of China on February 5 continues to reassure people by reaffirming that there is no evidence that H7N9 is spreading directly from person to person. and most infections have been isolated from treatment.
