Video: Chemistry method turns glass into mirrors for two minutes
British designer David Smith has over 33 years of professional experience and this is how he turns a glass into a mirror.
The whole process of turning the glass into a mirror takes only 2-3 minutes.
The mixture of silver nitrate and ammonia is added to deionized water or demineralized water. Shake well or wait until the precipitate completely dissolves, creating a transparent solution.
When pouring this solution onto the glass surface, chemical reactions will occur. Silver precipitated and clung to the glass surface, turning the original glass into a mirror. The whole process only takes about 2-3 minutes.
