Video: Crocodile all jump straight up

A saltwater crocodile throws its tail, lifting its large body up vertically to catch its prey.

Photographer Trevor Frost made the film in the framework of a crocodile project funded by the National Geographic Society, and posted it on Instagram on September 13.

Attracted by the good bait, the crocodile swayed its tail to create thrust and suddenly launched straight into the air vertically.

"The tail pushes them in the water like a torpedo from a submarine," Frost said, adding that this is a saltwater crocodile, the world's largest reptile. Adult males are 6-7m long, average weight is 1,000-1,200kg, females are only half the size, with a length of no more than three meters.

According to Cnet, this scene is very rare because crocodiles are often lazy. They are only active when hungry and the video shows how dangerous a crocodile can be when hungry.
