Video: Earth image at night

In the video published by the US Aviation Agency, the earth is like a black jewel with countless bright spots.

The video was made from high-resolution photos taken by an American satellite. In those photos, the Earth's electromagnetic light is very clear because it is not blocked by clouds. They make it easier for scientists to study the Earth's atmosphere, soil and ocean at night.

"They are very high quality data , " commented Christopher Elvidge, a scientist from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
