UPI said that the video was recorded in the waters of Carmel City, California, USA.
When diving to a depth of about 25m, two divers named Warren Murray and David Malvestuto discovered a giant dark Pacific octopus, nearly 2.5m long.
To approach and shoot the video of this mollusk, Murray moves closer and points the camera at the subject. The octopus suddenly rushed forward, stretching its long arms to cling and trying to snatch the camera from the diver's hand. When the camera flash continues to flash, the new octopus steps back and leaves.
Giant Pacific octopus is a soft, short-bodied species that can grow body length up to 9 m. Octopus is considered to be a clever mollusk. Octopus intelligence and learning ability are a controversial research issue of science.
