Video: Robot moves on 6 feet
US scientists have just announced a robot that walks over 6 feet and it can mimic animal movements.
The X-RHex Lite robot can climb stairs and cross obstacles by performing jumping moves. Built by Professor Daniel Koditschek and Dr. Aaron Johnson at the University of Pennsylvania, this robot can also jump high through gaps and overcome many of the disadvantages of previous moving robots.
The main X-RHex Lite material is super light weight carbon fiber. This helps robots perform many jumping and climbing movements without using too much energy, Telegraph said.
Professor Koditschek said that the legs of the X-RHex Lite robot were originally assembled to mimic the movement of animals, but the team has only reached a small part of the goal. He added that the manufacture of X-RHex Lite is a breakthrough in improving the movement of robots.
Experts hope that future technological developments will create the perfect X-RHex Lite robots, to overcome rugged terrain to participate in environmental monitoring or search tasks. rescue.
