Located 48km southwest of the volcano is Denpasar, the capital of the island and the crowded international airport. The volcano has been dormant for nearly five decades but 700 tremors were discovered one day last week.

Indonesian government experts said that this is a sign of Agung volcano erupting. If a volcano erupts, a superheated air called a lava flow will endanger anyone nearby.
