The Terracotta Army or Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang is a group of terracotta figures and horses near the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang. The Terracotta Army was discovered on March 29, 1974, near Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, northwestern China. The Terracotta Army was buried with Emperor Qin Shi Huang of the Qin Dynasty, during the period 210-209 BC.

In addition to the terracotta warriors and horses, life-sized and sophisticated chariot statues were also discovered in the terracotta warriors and horses area. The statue complex is located in 3 separate tombs, the fourth tomb is empty. It is believed that the first tomb has statues of 6,000 soldiers and horses, which are the main army of Qin Shi Huang. The first tomb is located on the west side of the Mausoleum. The second tomb contains about 1,400 statues of cavalry and infantry with chariots, which are considered the police force, on an area of ​​19,659m². The third crypt houses the command team of different levels and a four-horse chariot on an area of ​​1524m² with 68 statues.
