Video: Twins kick together to win space in the womb
An interesting video just released shows a pair of twins kicking each other in the womb to win their feet.
These wonderful images were recorded by Imperial College London fetal care center with an MRI device.
Initially, Imperial College London used an MRI device to diagnose a potentially fatal syndrome known as the twin fetal blood transfusion syndrome. This syndrome only occurs in identical twins when blood from one fetus is passed on to the other baby.
This syndrome causes births to vary widely in weight. Younger babies often suffer from anemia, dehydration and paleness. Meanwhile, larger twins who get too much blood produce high blood pressure that can lead to heart failure.
However, during the diagnosis of the twins' illness in the video, doctors discovered an interesting conflict between the two babies.
