A British family who woke up in the morning panicked when they saw their cars and gardens being covered by moths . The white scene looked like a horror movie, according to The Sun.

Thousands of caterpillars have caused this sight in Llanishen, Cardiff, England and wet weather cannot stop their 'work' .

The caterpillars will turn into Ermine butterflies and local people fear they may appear rampant on the street.

Terrina Leech, 30, whose parents live on nearby St Dogmael Street, said: "The local council said they couldn't do anything. When they turned into butterflies, they advised people to close the windows.

"Caterpillars are on trees, outside gates and even in trash cans. They also appear in the backyard because of walking along the power cables. People use sprinklers on them but the next day they still come back. .

The Butterfly Conservation Agency said that this time is the season of Ermine butterflies.

An agency spokesman said: "Sometimes, trees will be completely covered by caterpillars. Sometimes these networks are so big that they can cover nearby objects like benches, bicycles and headstone".
