A British nature protection group said that Japanese whale meat is so abundant that it is used as a dog food. Thousands of tons of dolphin meat were congested as more whales were killed each year, the Dolphin and Whale Conservation Society (WDCS) said.

The Japanese government has sought to sell whale meat to schools but the price of this meat is declining.

A company is selling whale meat on the internet as a "nutritious, safe and natural" dog food. The website hakudai.com writes "a whale meat boom is secretly starting up."

"The number of people whose pets are interested in the health of the animals they raise is increasing, they realize the nutritional value of whale meat ."

" And now the demand and sales are increasing ."

Nutritious and delicious

This site describes whale meat as "natural" and caught "living from the country".

Mark Simmonds, director of science for WDCS, said: "Whaling is a cruel act and Japan is killing this amazing animal to produce dog food. Hoang. "

" We have heard many arguments from Japan about why whaling is necessary for them, but they never said they killed whales to feed dogs ."

The global whaling ban was introduced in the 1980s, but according to the International Whale Commission, catching for scientific research is still allowed.

This has been condemned by most nature protection groups that it is non-humanitarian, unnecessary and can affect the population of this animal.

Japan and Iceland open whale research programs, while Norway has an official objection to the whale fishing ban and still has commercial whale fishing activities.

Expand the area

The number of whales killed in Japan has turned the country into a target of nature protection groups.

During the current hunting season, Japan has launched the JARPA-2 program to double the number of elephants it catches each year from the Arctic Ocean.

Last year, the country launched a whale meat distribution program for schools, and some fast food business chains began selling whale burgers.

But the latest news about dolphin meat being used as a dog food suggests that it is likely that human demand in Japan for dolphin meat has not kept up with the recent supply increase.

WCDS quotes a number of studies showing that whale meat prices have halved in the past five years.
