Why can't humans eat grass?
In principle, humans can fully eat grass; It is non-toxic and chewable. However, despite being an abundant food source, people still cannot eat this plant dish.
There are two main reasons for that. First, the human stomach is difficult to digest leaves and grass. Meanwhile, animals like cows have a specialized stomach that has four compartments to help them digest grass, which takes place in a process called chewing.
Besides difficulties in digestion, grass also harms human teeth. Grass contains a lot of silicon dioxide, an abrasive that can quickly damage your teeth. Herbivores with continuous teeth grow in place of eroded teeth.
