According to the BBC, through decades of research, scientists have not yet determined the cause why we need to sleep, but there are still some interesting reasons. The first reason given is that all feel more comfortable and comfortable after a good night's sleep. People need sleep to be healthier, or at least, to be able to work properly. A few days without sleep, people easily fall into a state of forgetfulness, confusion and hallucinations. We need sleep when tired, as well as need to eat when hungry. Those are essential needs of people.

On average, every human needs about 7 hours to sleep every day.

Another reason given in recent years is that sleep helps us handle and strengthen new memories.'Maintenance' sleep for our memory. Matthew Walker and some of his colleagues at the University of California conducted a small experiment. He divided two groups of subjects: one group was asked to stay awake, one group was fully asleep and proceeded to check their memory on a computer. The results showed that those who had sleep were better able to remember. This is good news for those who like to nap.

Scientists also give opinions about dreams. They think that the adventures we have while sleeping may be a memory that is triggered randomly. This may explain why when we lack sleep, we can easily hallucinate. If dreams don't have an 'opportunity' to rearrange our memories in sleep, it will 'penetrate' into life, creating hallucinations.

Although scientists do not yet have a consensus on why we need sleep, one thing is for sure, sleep is good for our minds and bodies. The number of hours people need to sleep is different, but on average it takes about 7 hours for this - and people who sleep less often face many risks, such as heart disease and shortness of life.
