Medicine has demonstrated the harmful effects of inbreeding couples: Healthy couples can give birth to malformed children or carry genetic diseases such as color blindness (irrespective of red and blue), albino, fish scales skin .
Explaining this phenomenon, genetics said, all features on the body are regulated by genes, including the case of disease. Each body has about 500-600 thousand genes, among them inevitably there are seven pathological recessive genes, no conditions to reveal harmful effects.
Gene diving pathology persists in the family lineage from generation to generation. If the marriage is conducted with another family, the risk of outbreaks is usually not high. In contrast, inbreeding is a favorable condition for similar pathological recessive genes to meet, produce children with genetic illnesses or malformations.
In small populations living separately (no conditions for wide marriages with other population populations), congenital genetic diseases are very high. In Vietnam, surveys show that some genetic diseases often have higher rates in ethnic minorities. It may be due to local customs and conditions of how to make their marriages confined to a certain population.
