Wikipedia is about to be closed
The co-founder of Wikipedia's open encyclopedia threatens to shut down the entire English-language dictionary to protest against the illegal anti-piracy law being discussed in the United States.
This website is currently attracting around 365 million readers worldwide, helping it to rank 6th in the number of websites on earth.

Co-founder Jimmy Wales wrote on his personal blog that ' a global strike by at least English Wikipedia will put maximum pressure on the US government'.
Threatening to wipe out at least English Wikipedia and possibly other languages in response to the Anti-Piracy Act is currently being discussed at the US House of Representatives Justice Committee.
If this bill is passed, websites like Wikipedia - where users can post any content, will suffer the most severe consequences. According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, 'services that allow users to post content will face enormous pressure to control and filter content'.
The warning will close Wale's website, which received hundreds of supportive comments from readers' comments.'Bill is a threat to the internet, and must be prevented , ' one reader wrote.
A few months ago, the Wikipedia community Italy decided to suspend the Italian Wikipedia website shortly to protest the law that violated editorial independence. Immediately, the Italian Parliament must step back.
"I think a community strike is a very powerful and very successful tool in Italy and may be even stronger in this case," Wales said.
