Cuc Phuong's Turtle House

Close to the forest of Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh) has a 'turtle house'. It is a campus of more than 3,000m2 with enough living conditions for turtles like between wild nature with shelter caves, lakes, sandy beaches to lay eggs or sunbathing .

Starting with a foreign wildlife conservation organization, Cuc Phuong National Park's turtle conservation and rescue center has now collected over 1,000 turtles of 20 species out of 25 species of turtles. fresh water of Vietnam.

There have been many experts on Asian turtles from abroad coming here to study. The person in charge of the center is Bui Dang Phong, the Muong ethnic minority, nicknamed 'Turtle'. Mr. Phong is one of the few people who has been trained to study turtles in Vietnam.

Considered the 'savior' of the turtle, Mr. Phong and the staff of the center have found a way to create an artificial hatchery of 13 rare and precious turtles named in the Red Book of Vietnam such as the golden forehead turtle, the tortoise turtle, Central turtle, toothed turtle, four-eyed turtle, golden mountain turtle, striped neck turtle .
