The sixth great extinction of the Earth has begun

The earth can stand on the brink of the sixth great extinction in history, scientists at the University of California (USA) warn.

Scientists believe that the decline in the number of animals from frogs and fish to tigers is equal to the five major Earth extinctions over the past 540 million years. The University of California team evaluated their planets to stand before the 6th major extinction.

' If you look at the mammals that are classified as seriously endangered, you can see that many species will disappear from Earth within 1000 years. This is an unusual sign that warns us of an approaching extinction , "said Professor Anthony Barnosky, a member of the research team.

However, Professor Anthony Barnosky said that it is not too late to save rare animals from extinction. What we need to do now is protect the living environment, prevent alien organisms, prevent disease and solve the problem of global warming.

' So far, 1-2% of all animals on Earth are extinct. In terms of quantity, it seems our Earth is very close to the sixth major extinction. But we still have a lot of opportunities to protect strange animals , 'said Barnosky.

Biological researchers estimate that at least 80 species of mammals out of a total of 5,570 species have been discovered extinct over the past 500 years.
