Black crocodiles, electric eels, vampire fish . are fierce aquatic monsters of the Amazon River, one of the great rivers and many of the world's most dangerous animals.

1. Caiman Black Crocodile

The Amazon River is a river in South America known as the habitat of many giant and dangerous animals. Kaname Black Crocodile is one of the fierce sea monsters living in this river. A crocodile can be up to 6 meters long with a large and heavier skull than the Nile crocodile. As the top predator in the Amazon River, caiman black crocodiles can eat anything near them, including piranhas, monkeys, deer, perch, and anaconda. In 2010, Deise Nishimura, a biologist, lost a leg when fighting a caima black crocodile after 8 months of the animal hiding under her boat.

2. Anaconda green snake

Anaconda green snake is the largest snake in the world. Female snakes can be larger than males with a length of 9m, weigh 250kg and their body diameter is 30cm. These snakes are not poisonous, but instead they use enormous muscle strength to strangle prey such as deer, crocodiles and even jaguars. They often live in shallow waters that can allow them to hide and they like in the Amazon tributary areas.

This is a giant carnivorous fish that lives in the Amazon River and neighboring lakes. Arapaima are usually on the water surface because they need to breathe air in addition to absorbing oxygen through the gills. Arapaima fish can reach 2.7m long and give 90kg. This fish is so aggressive that its tongue also has teeth.

4. Giant otter

Giant otter is a typical example of a weasel family. Adult male otters can be 2m long (from head to tail). This otter often eats fish and crabs. They usually hunt in groups of 3 to 8 and can eat 4kg of food per day. In addition, this otter can attack and eat snake crocodiles and crocodiles. They are also considered to be one of the most predatory animals in the Amazong River and are known as "river wolves".

Bull sharks often live in freshwater areas and are found in deep waters of the Amazon tributaries like Iquitos in Peru, 4,000 km from the sea. This is a fish that can feel the change in the salinity of the surrounding water and can adapt depending on the new environment. This fish is about 3.3 meters long and weighs 312kg. Like other sharks, they have countless triangular sharp teeth and very strong jaws with bite force of up to 589kg. Cow sharks are considered one of the most dangerous sharks in the world.

7. Electric eel

Electric eels look more like catfish than eels. The electric eel is 2.5m long and generates electricity from special cells called electrocyten on the side. This current can reach 600 volts, 5 times the current in a conventional electrical outlet in the US and enough to take down a horse. Many electric shocks from this creature can cause heart attack or respiratory failure. When an electric eel is attacked, normal people will be stunned and drowned. Electric eels locate prey by creating 10-volt currents before stunbing prey and killing them with stronger electric currents.

8. Red belly Piranha fish

This fish mainly eats rotten animal carcasses. They are about 30cm long and swim into large flocks. Red-bellied Piranhas have sharp teeth. The interlocking teeth help them tear prey meat easily. Red-bellied Piranha groups can focus on unfortunate prey and quick processing in minutes. However, prey attacks are rare and often occur when they are very hungry or provocative.

9. Payara vampire fish

Payara is an extremely fierce predatory fish, capable of swallowing the amount of fish half the size of the body. The main food of this fish is piranha. Their names come from two fangs that grow from the lower jaw with a length of 15cm, which is used to pierce the prey after attacking. The upper jaw of the fish has special pits used to avoid the fangs that stab them.

Pacu fish are creatures with human-like teeth. Unlike other species in the list, Pacu fish is omnivorous fish, favorite food is fruits and nuts.
