26 million years old fossil discovered by ancient killer pigs
The researchers found that the black stone found in Mississippi was the teeth of a prehistoric creature nicknamed 'the giant killer pig from hell'.
The Mississippi Archaeological Association (MAA) on March 27 confirmed the fossil-sized fossils of a killer pig (Entelodont). MAA geologist James Starnes said the fossil teeth were an "amazing" discovery.

" Imagine what life was like in the Mississippi region in the Tan River, 26 million years ago. Fossils provide a rare and important clue about life on Earth at that time," Starnes said. .
Fody collector Cody Beech in Wayne County found the tooth as he explored a limestone beach called Chickasawhay / Payne's Hammock. According to Beech, the tooth protruded from a small rock at the edge of a creek. Limestone deposits are being studied by the state Office of Geology and the Museum of Natural Sciences.
The killer pig is hippo-sized, weighs 908kg and has a meter long skull, according to Live Science. Despite their pig-like appearance, previous research has revealed they are closer to the hippopotamus. This animal can bite small camels in half. Large 2 cm deep scars have been discovered on the killer pig's corpse that revealed them fighting their fellow humans and using their jaws to bite their heads during combat.
