A farmer successfully built sugar cane harvesters

Mr. Doan Quang Phong (63 years old) is a farmer in Trieu Phong 1 village, Quang Son commune, Ninh Son district, Ninh Son province, Ninh Thuan province has successfully "fabricated" a sugar cane harvesting machine based on the KUBOTA 1500 plow .

This machine works on all fields, tight, peeled, broken, every hour produces 10 tons of sugarcane (10 times higher than manual labor). After harvesting machines, workers only collect and unload vehicles for transport to supply to sugar processing plants.

Quang Son commune is one of the sugarcane material areas of the province, every year, the harvest often lacks labor; Moreover, the sugarcane harvest by manual and strenuous method but low productivity, not timely, leads to the situation of dry sugarcane and burnt sugarcane.

From the reality of his family, Mr. Doan Quang Phong thought of trying to bring mechanization into sugarcane harvesting to reduce manpower, while improving productivity and efficiency of sugarcane production in the locality. As a farmer himself, Doan Quang Phong has no mechanical skills; do not have money to buy materials and fabricate machines; His family initially did not believe his work would be effective.

With his passion, he studied the materials himself, mobilized and persuaded his wife and children, and eventually the whole family agreed to let him "manufacture sugarcane cutting machines".

From the funding of the children to support, especially the strong cooperation of the son, Doan Quang Thai (recently graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, majoring in Machine Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry). After many years of diligently designing, manufacturing, and experimenting, it was not necessary to do many times, he finally produced a machine to harvest sugarcane effectively.

He hoped that the industries were interested in recognizing patent rights and considering giving loans with preferential interest rates to produce many high quality, low cost sugarcane cutting machines, well serving sugarcane harvest.
