A unique glass bridge winding through the clouds in China
The entire structure is made up of three interwoven wavy spheres and makes visitors feel like they are walking among a rainbow in the sky.
Zhejiang is one of the richest provinces in China and a famous tourist province with the charming mountain and river scenery of the Jiangnan region. Recently, another unique project in Zhejiang attracted the attention of the Chinese online community because of its unique design that seemed to be just an artificial intelligence product.
That is the Nhu Y glass bridge , 'floating' between two cliffs at a height of 140m, in the Than Tien Cu scenic area in Taizhou city (Zhejiang province).
This bridge was inaugurated in 2017 and opened to local visitors in 2020. The entire structure is made up of three interwoven wavy decks, like three waves intersecting in a canyon.
Most of the bridge surface is designed with transparent tempered glass, allowing visitors to see the entire view of Than Tien Cu valley and creating the feeling of walking among a rainbow in the sky.
Standing on the bridge, visitors can see majestic mountains, covered with clouds, and lush green trees, truly feeling like a fairyland. When looking down at your feet, you can only see steep cliffs, like a bottomless abyss, creating excitement for those who like strong feelings.
The designer of this unique glass bridge is Ha Van Xuong - a steel structure expert who participated in the design of Bird's Nest Stadium, where the 2008 Beijing Olympics took place.
The bridge construction process encountered many difficulties due to the terrain and weather conditions in the area. The construction team had to contend with strong winds, heavy rain and landslides. However, they overcame these difficulties and completed the bridge on time.
